I had the chance to take it slow on this past trip and enjoy some Christmas melodies performed by the Dapper Dans.
Main Street Dapper Dans
- The Dapper Dans is classic a cappella barbershop quartet that has been performing at the Magic Kingdom since it’s opening in 1971 (since 1959 at Disneyland)
- The term Dapper Dan is a turn of the century term (fitting for Main Street) referring to a well dressed gentleman
- They have a playlist of about 100 songs and since 1971 have been sung over 1 million times (Goodbye My Coney Island Baby alone has been sung over 50,000 times)
- While the Dapper Dans perform as a quartet, there are typically 12 singers for each park
- The Disney World Dapper Dans perform 9 sets a day, seven days a week
- And during the holidays their set includes holiday favorites like ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘White Christmas’
