A Tour of a Deluxe Studio at the Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
We had the luxury of starting our vacation with a quick one night stop at the Wilderness Lodge. I love this resort and was happy to be able to stay in one of the newly remodeled studios.
This room is a bit different as it is a dedicated studio. Meaning that it is not connected to a one bedroom villa. It also was a corner room which meant it had an extra window where the door to the connecting villa would have been.
This made the room appear bigger and brighter.
Bed and Sitting Area
The room includes a queen bed with a beautiful woodsy headboard. Each side of the bed has it’s own reading light but only one side of the bed will have a night stand. (so make sure to pick your side first)
The couch folds out into a double. It’s not the most comfortable of the fold outs on property (Contemporary wins hands down) but beats the old bar in the back style anytime.
There is a small table and two chairs in front of the entertainments center. Since there is now a pull down murphy bed to allow 5 people to stay in the room, Disney has added a armoire (on the left) for drawer storage. We found it ample and think there was little change in storage space over the old layout where the drawers were beneath the tv.
Had to add the gratuitous kid photos. They loved using the table to color the welcome kit items they received at check in. This is the first time I had seen kids get welcome packages but it was sure nice to have them focused on something else as we unpacked the room.
The best part of the room is the murphy bed. The table folds up to become the legs of the bed. The mural is of Bambi sleeping next to his mother with all the forest animals looking on.
Both kids loved looking at all the details in the mural. Mr J was supposed to have slept there but Mr T pulled a fast one and fell asleep on it while Mr J and Dad went to the lobby to get drinks in the evening.
Kitchenette Area
The kitchenette resembles those in all the studio rooms. It comes complete with :
- Paper plates and bowls, and plastic utensils
- Glassware (glasses and coffee mugs)
- Small refrigerator
- Microwave
- Toaster
- Coffee Maker
- Cleaning Supplies (paper towels, dish towel, sponge, dish soap)
Next to the kitchenette is a closet with other items you may need on during your stay.
- High chair
- Vacuum
- Pack and Play Crib
Vanity and Bathroom Area
As you can see from my over exposed photos the vanity is well lit so you can be sure your makeup goes on the right way. There is open storage below a couple of drawers. One drawer does include a hair dryer.
In the vanity area there is your main closet for hanging your clothes or storing your luggage. It does include a luggage rack and extra pillows and blankets.
The bathroom is basic. You have everything you need to get clean.
I did stop and take a photo of this artwork on the wall. It is in the bathroom and it really made me think about how a Disney Cast Member would think about this moment in Bambi and pick it for this room. It is perfect and I am amazed it came to mind.
My Thoughts
Disney’s wilderness lodge is one my favorite places to stay on property. We just don’t do it enough.
The room is great for a family of five but beware you may have to come up with a sleeping rotation for who gets the murphy bed.
We could have easily stayed in the room for a week without getting in each other’s way. It was laid out well and left lots of roaming room.
What do you think about the Wilderness Lodge? Is it one of your favorites?
I do want to point out when I went to bed I was sleeping with my husband but when I woke up my bed had been invade. So beware – you may end up on the couch.

We looked into the Wilderness Lodge last time we visited, but ended up staying a little closer at Pop Century. Are considering it for our next visit though!
Wow! What a beautiful room! I love that they had a high chair. It’s something small, but makes life a lot easier!
What a beautiful place to stay! My kids would absolutely love the cool beds!
I’ve never stayed in a Disney property hotel, this looks phenomenal. I love the idea of the Murphy bed to make more room in the room.
What a beautiful space! 🙂
