Four Silhouette Valentine Gift Bag Topper Ideas

Plus FREE Printable to Make Your Own

Valentine Gift Bag Toppers - FREE Printables and SVG FilesThese days when I do crafts I am either doing thing with pre-schoolers or for pre-schoolers.  Today I am sharing some designs I created for school Valentine’s Day gift bags.

I was inspired by silhouettes and started down the road of classic couples.  Of course Mickey and Minnie came to mind.

Welcome to the next stop on Blogorail Yellow as we share our take on a Valentine’s Day Craft.

Mickey and Minnie

This classic couple is made using a couple of silhouettes I found of the two getting ready to kiss.  To make it even more romantic hearts were added above them.  The cutting files have the hearts cut out to add dimension.

The words are simple, “Be Mine Valentine”.  It sums up what this couple is all about.

Then I stumbled across the Simpsons.  Right now the men in my family (young and old) are watching this show every night so I knew I had to include Marge and Homer in my collections.

Marge and Homer Simpson

This one was fun to research.  As you know they are not the couple you typically think of as a great romance.  But think about it, Marge and Homer have been together for 25 years.  That has to say something.

I created the silhouette by hand and again added hearts for effect.   The quote I chose for this topper was one of Homer proclaiming his love to Marge.  It reads “Your (misspelled on purpose) as pretty as Princess Leia and as smart as Yoda.”

But then I started to stray from your classic couples. I kept finding ideas for other silhouettes and these next two Valentines were born.

Scooby Doo and Friends

Right now my boys are into Scooby Doo so I kept running across the photo of the gang running from a monster and I knew I had to make a silhouette of it.

It was also fun to use some of the retro element from the Mystery Machine as the background. The text was just me being cheeky thinking of the team always running.  So “I’ll Always Be Behind You Valentine” was born.

The Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts

The final topper is just because I stumbled across a photo of the Hitchiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

This is definitely not your typical Valentine but adding the test “I’ll Follow You Anywhere” made it a bit more appropriate for Valentine’s Day.

Some of these bag toppers may be a bit unconventional but they are so fun to make.  I have included for you a printable of these toppers.  Feel free to shrink or enlarge them to fit your gift bags.  I made them 4.5 inches in width to fit the bags I was using but yours may vary.

Oh my goodness! Those silhouettes are all adorable. I’m partial to the Minnie & Mickey with hearts, but love that you went several directions. My sister would love the Scooby and gang. I seriously need to consider a Cricut!

That’s a great idea. We have such a hard time finding those clear bags and end up using sandwich baggies (which don’t look as nice).

    • Mary Connor February 6, 2015 at 6:37 pm - Reply

I have to admit Scott, I could easily see my boys going with sandwich bags.
