A Look At The Disneyland Lilly Belle Rail Car

I have yet to have the pleasure to go to Disneyland and experience the kingdom that Walt built. But when I do I know I will patiently wait for a chance to ride the Lilly Belle. So please enjoy as PT takes us with here on her wonderful experience.
Unfortuneatly since the running of this article they closed the Lilly Belle to the general public. So it is even a better treat to be able to see what it was like abaord.
I recently was privileged with taking a ride on the Lilly Belle — the Presidential Parlor Car of the Disneyland Railroad.
The Lilly Belle is named after Walt Disney’s wife, Lillian and hosts dignitaries, celebrities and other VIPs. It’s pulled by the C.K. Holiday train and does not operate everyday. I was very lucky to hop aboard as I happened to sit in the train car right in front of it and asked the Cast Member how I could get a ticket.
I was told that it was not in operation because the Main Street Station was undergoing remodeling. The Cast Member then asked what station I was going to. I told him Tomorrowland which was the very next station. He then told me to quickly hop inside the Lilly Belle for a quick ride. I was stoked!
There are some really special touches inside. For example, the carpeting is the same carpet used in Walt’s apartment on Main Street and includes a Hidden Mickey!
There are a set of three books, replicas of the stories Walt would read his daughters.
This is a robe that was a gift to Lillian Disney (I already forgot who gave it to her).
Before we arrived at Tomorrowland, I got to sign the guest book. All Lilly Belle guests are to sign the book and once the book is filled, it gets sent to the Cast Member office.
This was a special privilege that I will remember forever. One day I hope to enjoy a full ride around the park and get an official Lilly Belle ticket.
If you’d like to ride the Lilly Belle, head over to the Main Street Station and ask a Cast Member for a ticket. It’s not guaranteed, but you might get lucky! I have asked twice in the past and this was the first time I got in, so don’t give up!
I had no idea the Lilly Belle had the same carpet as Walt’s apartment! That is so cool! Riding the Lilly Belle is on my Disney bucket list. Thanks for sharing you pictures of it! They are beautiful!
Wow! That was truly a special privilege. The Lilly Belle is beautiful! That’s a neat fun fact that the carpet was in Walt’s apartment. For the life of me though, I can never find the hidden Mickeys. lol So glad you had a great time!
I never knew Walt’s wife was named Lillian. But that riding car looks so fun! My kids would love it.
I had no idea this existed! If we ever make it back to Disneyland, I’ll be sure to ask!
This is a piece of Disney history I never knew about! So cool and what a fun opportunity you got to experience.
I never knew about this!! What an amazing piece of Disney history!
