Ocean Star Drilling Rig Museum Scrapbook Page Layout

The Ocean Star Offshore Energy Center is dedicated to expand the awareness of the vast energy resources beneath the world’s oceans, and to chronicle the unique heritage and technological accomplishments of the industry that discovers, produces, and delivers these resources in a safe and environmentally responsible way.

Location: The Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum and Education Center is docked at Pier 19 in Galveston, less than an hour from downtown Houston, which makes it a wonderful showcase in a perfect location for an “offshore” experience.

Hours of Operation:

  • Open Daily 10 AM to 5 PM (6 PM in the summer).
  • Closed Thanksgiving Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Tickets:

  • Adults – $8.00
  • Seniors (55 and older) – $5.00
  • Students (7-18) – $5.00
  • Children (6 & under) – FREE
  • Last ticket sold one hour before closing.

    What a creative way to document everything you did! I wish I was that creative! It would be fun to see this museum. Great place to learn a lot with the kids!!

    I like field trips like that. We are members of a museum in Fort Worth and try to go every month. Lots to do there and so much knowledge.

    Mary,

    Glad to see that you enjoyed your trip to our museum…come again and bring the kids! The second Saturday of every month is Family Day–kids are free with the purchase of an adult ticket, and a craft or experiment table is set up for an activity. Each month has a different activity that goes along with an offshore or scientific theme.
