Welcome to those of you joining me from The Many Adventures of a Disney-Lovin’ Spectrum Mom and those of you who have just hopped aboard. I am the Final stop on our Magical Blogorail loop. This week, members of Magical Blogorail Teal are introducing ourselves, our blogs, and what inspired us to start a Disney blog!
When asked to write a about myself and what inspired my blog, the first thing I think of is what Jiminy Cricket says at the beginning of ‘Wishes’….
“Like a bolt out of the blue, fate steps in and sees you through.
When you wish upon a star, your dreams…come true.
My journey here was one of magical surprises. It all goes back to a fateful post on a discussion board back in 2006. I had come to a point in my life where I needed a change. So I decided to plan a solo trip to Walt Disney World but was nervous about going alone.
I asked a question about what to do by yourself and a message came back assuring me everything would be ok. That message came from a man in upstate New York who I met just four months later at Walt Disney World for Spring Training.
Eight more months pass by and one night in December, right before Wishes in the Rose Garden in front of the Swan Boat Dock, that same man proposed and I said yes.
I had always be drawn to Disney, but from that moment on Disney became an integral part of our new lives together.
We bought DVC, purchased annual passes, and made sure to visit at least twice a year. We even honeymooned there, had out first anniversary there, and may have even brought home a little ‘souvenir’ we call John.
There are so many wonderful and precious memories from our time at Walt Disney World and I want to preserve them all. I love that even though our son won’t remember his first visits (he’s already at three and he is 16 mo) we can share all those special moments with him and re-live them every day. Even now he reaches for his album and looks at those photos.
Then late last year I began creating some of my albums in a digital format. Oh my! The digital format opened up so many possibilities for me. Now may favorite is hybrid scrapbooking. It lets me showcase my photos creatively and at the same time add the memorabilia I find so special. I soon found myself a Creative Memories Independent Consultant helping others preserve their memories. And when I showed others my Disney albums their faces would light up and they would say ‘How do you do that?’. That is when I decided to start this blog. It lets me combine my three favorite things: Family, Disney, and Capturing those Magical Moments!
Well, that is a little bit of who I am and how I got here. I hope you will stop back by now and then to see what I am up to. I also love to help people preserve those memories, so do not hesitate to ask me anything!!!!!
Thank you for joining us this month. We will be back July 26th with an all new theme, though keep checking in with our blogs in between loops to keep up to date with our Disney info, photos and stories.

I love, love, love your story and am so happy for you and your awesome family. Some day we need to be at Disney longer together 😉
I enjoyed reading about all of you on the Teal Magical Blogorail loop wish at times I lived closer to Disney, only go when we visit grandchildren in San Diego and I just hate the crowd of course we usually go in the summer so that adds to the crowd, the boys have been so much they do have some shortcuts and what rides to get express tickets on etc, which is great.
I remember this post, but I also love re-reading it again for the first time in a while. Thanks Mary for all of your creative genius, and congratulations on your Wish Come True!
Nothing beats a match made in Walt Disney World! (Throw in some baseball, and it is darn near perfect!!) Love your story Mary; here’s to your happily ever after…
Mary! I don’t know why I did not remember this story because it’s TRULY a great one! I hope that one day soon I’ll get to bring home a great souvenir like you did.
