During the holidays I mentioned that I was going to be scrapping and writing about one of Animal Kingdom’s sleeper hits shows – at least it is for my family.
It is not a long show – 25 min. in length and it runs throughout the day on the hour. It has the right combination for me – not too long, outdoors in the shade, a sidelong comedy portion and most importantly knowledgeable people who demonstrate how amazing birds are and how important they are to our eco-system.
When I came home this summer after our last trip I compared my photos with the ones I took back in 2010 and even earlier years and the very same cast members are still working with the birds. I was impressed.
I only have my title page done so far for this section in my Disney album that will feature all of my photos of this show. I do have quite a few photos because interestingly enough for my family my husband was chosen twice to be a participant during the show!
As he especially has an affinity for birds this was a great deal of fun for us. Those photos & layouts will appear in future posts.
This title page features my husband and 2 children viewing the Spectacled Owl after the show. At the conclusion of the show it is possible to go to the front of the stage to view some of the birds up close. This beautiful and uniquely colored owl was one of our very favorites.
I combined many different papers and elements from quite a few designers so be sure to see the page credits. The Flights of Wonder title work was simply a photograph of the sign hanging at the front of the stage entrance.
HINT: This is a great time saver in scrapping for me as it is so much quicker than text or alphas. Disney has such creative and artistic signs throughout the parks that I highly recommend photographing as many as you can to use on your pages.
My other favorite part of this page is the Emerging Birds stamp by Splendid Finns. I filled it with a paper to create a soft look almost as if the birds are exploding from the photograph. I used these same stamps on a New York city page – stamps can be very versatile and can be used on many different styles of pages or topics. Layering the Tree of Life graphic and coloring it green added that special Disney touch.
See you next week with some more of Disney’s feathered friends!

Love this scrapbook page. The birds look really interesting.
I admire all your scrapbooking and keepsakes!
I haven’t seen this show. Love Disney and would really like to spend more time in Animal Kingdom on a future visit, our previous visit didn’t pan out that way. Love the themes you have for the scrapbooks!
Wow, I had no idea you could do all that! Love this scrapbooking page, need to give it a try!
I like your scrap booking page! And I like that bird. 🙂
