Scrapbookers are notorious for having too much stuff. We buy things because they are just too cute or it is the latest fad. I wish I had a nickel every time someone said I have too much stuff already and I can’t move on until I use what I have.
There are so many pictures out there not going into albums because people have to use the scrapbook material they already have. Remember, the pictures are the most important thing. After many years of accumulating supplies I have now become a minimalist. I only buy what I am using for the project at hand.

Tool Case
I really can’t live without this! These things are great and I have even bought a couple for non-scrapbooking uses. The value here is keeping tools contained so they do not fall to the bottom of bags, cut or glue something by accident, or get lost completely. Mine currently holds: tapes, glues, scissors, extra blades for cutters, pens, and cricut tools. There are other cases for larger sized tools, but this is the one I rely on the most.

Folder Systems
Folders systems are critical to managing paper of all sizes. I have used accordion file system, binders and boxes. But my favorite are the folder sleeves that allow me to see what is in them.

Thank you for the scrap paper ideas! I alreadyhave a ton of those folders in my basement from whenI used to teach! I am going to work on that today! I too am someone who spent way too much money early on and bought what I liked. Now I have this large collections things (especially paper) that I really don't use much. Luckily, I quickly learned to only purchase things as I need them, which has made my scrapbooking much less overwhelming!
Love this post, Mary! If you don't mind, I'd like to share it with my customers. Thanks in advance!
No problem Sue!
Yeah! Glad to hear it will work for you. It has really made things easier for me.
I have a new method that I started using. I group each event of photos in an envelope and arrange by date (for family events). Then I crop them and put them back into envelope. When I get ready to scrapbook, I have lots of precut borders and work on two-page layouts and it goes so fast……
That's a great idea!
Love all the ideas! I wish my stash was more mobile (may have to talk to you about the wheeled bag). I sort my embellishments and everything into a separate tote by theme (Disney, Christmas, Spring, ect) which is great for keeping it together but not so great if I ever want to go anywhere else to scrap. Some things could also fall into more than one category so that gets confusing too.
One good things I've done is sort my memorabilia by event and keep it in a zip top bag with the event info written on the outside. That way, when I've got a minute to scrap, I can just pull the pictures from my photo sorting box and the bag from my tote and get started on the project.
Do you know where I can get the tool case and tote? I’ve looked everywhere Amazon,eBay,etc.
Lynn, As you know they have been discontinued. On the tool case I can help a bit. These cases were actually designed from men’s toiletry bags. I checked out Amazon and this one is approximately the same dimensions. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GWXTQY/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000GWXTQY&linkCode=as2&tag=captumagicmem-20&linkId=AQCKKX3LYGGPJXIY (affiliate link)
But I also did notice that Creative Memories just released a completely redesigned tool bag. It’s an interesting design http://www.creativememories.com/whats-new/tools-organizer.html
Do you have a rolling tote bag for sale
Hi
I would love a tote like that. Where can I get one?
Thanks
