Creating Disney Memories Interview with Kelly of Kellybell Designs

Creating #DisneyMemories - Kelly of Kellybell DesignsWelcome to the first in a series of articles that will introduce you to some influential designers that specialize in Disney Scrapbooking.  These designers and scrapbookers will inspire you to preserve your memories and relive those magical moments in your life.

To kick things off I would to introduce you to Kelly of Kellybell Designs .

Kelly of Kellybell Designs

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I started digital scrapbooking in late 2008 after I had been designing homemade Disney T-shirts for family trips to Disney World. Once I was introduce to the digital scrapbooking world I thought I could take my knowledge of T-Shirt designing and start to design my own digital kits. Needless to say Disney is a huge part of my designing and what inspires me. I hope my designs help to make everlasting memories of trips to the most magical place in the world!

How long have you been scrapbooking?

10 years

How long have you been designing?

5 years

What do you like about designing?

It’s definitely an outlet for my creativity. And also the accomplishment of getting that pattern or texture just right or an element that works perfectly with a kit. The challenge to create keeps me headed back to my computer day after day. I also love to see my kits used in a layout. That is really the icing on the cake.

What makes designing a Disney themed kit different?

It is heaven because it encompasses my love of all things Disney. It’s comes easy to design for something I love as much as Disney. I like the specificity of it. Like a whole kit devoted to a certain character or resort. And make all the neat little elements that are devoted to that subject only.

What is your favorite Disney inspired kit?

Wow that is really tough, it changes almost weekly. Usually my favorite is the one I just finished lol. Right now I would have to say it’s “The Studios“. It has all those fun iconic elements of Hollywood and cinema which is just perfect for scrapping your Hollywood Studios page.

Do you have a favorite Disney page you have created?

Jeez, a favorite, really? That is near impossible to choose just one. They are kinda like my kids, you can’t really have a favorite. But I recently did one that is close to my heart. It has just a great pic of all my girls, and lots of glitter so it’s my favorite right now.

What is your non-Disney digital “go-to” kit?

Truthfully, I don’t really scrap too much non-Disney or if I need to, I re-purpose one of my kits or another Disney kit I have in my stash. It all depends on the colors I am looking to use. I have enough kits that encompass enough color schemes that I can usually find what I need.

What advice would you give to someone just starting to scrapbook?

The best advise for a beginner scrapper is to join a forum. I joined Mousescrappers.com way back when I first started and have learned a ton from all the wonderful scrappers on that site. Most sites have challenges and offer freebies to help get you started. The community feel is awesome as well, if you have a question and post it people are always there with the answers and advise to help.

What Disney character are you most like?

Tinkerbell
