Last week we kicked off a new series talking about the best photo spots at Walt Disney World with Gaston’s Tavern. This week we walk a few feet away and talk about Be Our Guest Restaurant. Again, all of these ideas come from you. Some are serious and some are fun…
Beast’s Castle
The first photo op that you will find is one with Beast’s castle in the background. These are your quintessential photo ops and are great for any family photos.

Photo tips:
- This is a Disney Photopass location so you can take your own photo or have a Disney photographer do it with their camera as part of your Disney Memory Maker package. Most Disney photographers will also take a photo with your camera so everyone can get in the picture.
- Because of the placement you will never have to worry about other people in your photo. But do be careful of the sun. Morning could have you squinting into the sun making for a not so glamorous photo. If you are caught in the sun have everyone close their eyes and then open them on the count of three for the photo.
Gargoyles of the Bridge
You may find yourself hanging out on the bridge that leads to Beast’s castle as you wait for your lunch or dinner reservation. As you wait for your table why not have some fun with bridge’s resident gargoyles.

Photo tips:
- Have fun with these photos. You can have the classic shot of you and the gargoyle but why not try looking like the gargoyle and put on that sad face.
- And if the kids make the bridge into another world try capturing that. You never know how those gargoyles will play the part.

Castle Entrance
The entrance to Beast’s castle can also hold some fun spots. In the photo below my son decided to try to take down the gates.
Photo tips:
There are many props around the entrance that can great for family photos:
- The great doors that lead into the castle are perfect for a shot but beware they open quite often so be quick with the shutter to capture that shot.
- The lions that guard the doors are wonderful elements to add to photos of the kids.
- Family photos in front of the Beauty and the Beast murals will always look great. All the colors of the mural just make them pop.
- Try getting a photo with your arm around one of the sets of armor that line the great hallway.
The Ballroom
The first room you enter in Beast’s Castle is the stunning ballroom. This room is stunning and if you can get the snow falling in the background it is also quite romantic.
Photo tips:
- Unless you have a camera with a very very low f-stop (camera folks will know what I mean) make sure you use a flash. The room has very low light.
- Also try getting a photo at the entrance with the entire room behind you or one next to the windows with the snow. Photos at your table don’t always come out right.
- Beware that photo will typically come out a bit yellow but don’t fret. A little post production editing and you can still have a great shot.
The West Wing
One of the must see rooms is the West Wing. This room is the one the Beast lived in and has decorated in his own beastly manner. It includes the portrait of himself that flickers between his human and beast self. It also had the famous rose with the falling petals.
Photo tips:
- Try to avoid a flash as much as possible here. If you use a flash the flower will not show up at all. Set your camera on a low f-stop (camera folks you know what I mean) or for a night setting.
- Laura Blair shared this wonderful tip about the candelabra. If you are seated in the west wing the cast member may give a member of your party this candelabra to show the way. Take advantage of this and grab a shot of with the candelabra and the flower together. Makes for a very dramatic photo.
The Beast
Of course if you are visiting the castle for dinner you have to have a photo with you host, the Beast. He makes an entrance about every 30 minutes and then poses for photos.
Photo tips:
- This is a Disney Photopass location so you can take your own photo or have a Disney photographer do it with their camera as part of your Disney Memory Maker package. Most Disney photographers will also take a photo with your camera so everyone can get in the picture.
- Unless you have a camera with a very low f-stop (camera folks will know what I mean) make sure you use a flash. The room has very low light.

Have to say I love all the ideas I got from asking everyone their favorite photos ops. Have I left anything off? Next up is the Journey of the Little Mermaid and Ariel’s Grotto. If you have any photos to share I would love to use them!
What great photo’s! Some are really funny like the jail one and the gun!
Great tips! We’ve only been to Disney as a family once and we just did one character breakfast so as not to overload the kids. We’re going back and were wondering what are the best dinner ones to go to!
It looks so pretty with the rocks in the back ground.
Love all those photo spots! I’d love to take my girls there. I bet they’d just love it!
how cute! your family looks happy
LilacCityMomma They would! Right next to Beast’s castle is Story Time with Belle. Who wouldn’t want to have a story ready to them by the one and only Belle.
thespringmount6pack They really did do a fantastic job!
TheHarriedMom I think only going to one was a great idea. It makes it so special that way. Which one did you try?
Great tips. Tks a lot.
Do you know if we can take pictures with the Beast even though I couldn’ t get any reservations due to this I’ m not going to have dinner there?I mean… if I have the photopass but I wont have dinner there, can I take a picture with the Beast?
Tks in advance
Liane
Unfortunately not. 🙁 It really is one of the perks for getting a dinner reservation there. I also wish there was another place to get a photo with him.
